Good little place to eat. Tex-mex food, good drinks and desserts for the kids. Over all the atmosphere was great.

We have officially made this our Favorite Go to For Mexican food and we are Mexican! We used to Love Los Cucos but they changed and food has lost interest. This restaurant has great prices and lunch specials...and some very "Good" Margaritas!! Can you say Tipsy? Make mine a Large my hubby's driving!! Their salsa is delicious and served warm which that is very important when choosing which Mexican restaurant we like! And we have found our Happy place here at El Palenque!!

Enjoyed my favorite - Spinach Enchiladas w/ cilantro rice and refried beans; chips & salsa & queso! Consistently delicious!

The food was good, the serving portions were also great. The only thing I didn't like was our server. I know it was busy and hectic, but he was a little rude at first, after some of the patrons left, he seemed more attentive and nicer.

Stood waiting for hostess for about 10 minutes for a table when restaurant was half empty. Ordered drinks then waited for over 20 minutes til like waitress came around to ask for our order. The food was good but NOT waiting ANOTHER 20 minutes for.... What I DID notice, the busboy was excellent. Pulling double duty. Was bussing tables AND refilling our drinks ( since he noticed our drinks empty while we waited for someone to take our order). I actually think it was HE who notified our waitress that we were waiting to order. SMHMost likely not go back due to the service. Get way better service at other Mexican restaurants with better prices & same rate food

I've been going here since my mother was pregnant with me. Today, I took my daughter for the first time. 30 years of visiting this Mexican restaurant is a true testament of this restaurant's lasting customer service and food. When you're there, ask for Mario! He's watched me grow up, and today he met my little girl :)

The food and drinks were outstanding and the service was excellent. I will be returning here again soon.

Always good food. Just watch where they seat you. I don't care for loud rowdy kids during a meal.

The frozen margaritas were yummy, & the house marg was on happy hour when we visited. Also the mini chimis appetizer was so good, it was a whole meal!

Great place to eat if you want authentic Mexican food. Every dish is made from scratch. Friendly environment for the whole family 👪. Wait staff very helpful and serve with a smile. Clean and atmosphere alive with laughter and fun.

My dish was El Tejano. Fine except the fajita was very salty. My wife ordered the Pollo Loco. It came on a sizzling platter but, curiously, the chicken was cold in the middle. She also got a bonus piece of beef fajita stuck to the outside of her plate. My son ordered the beef fajita chimichanga which turned out to be mixed fajita. The one piece of chicken he ate was very dry and he complained of overly salty beef. We will not be returning.

Mario is amazing, he remembered us by name after our first visit which has now turned into the first of many! The fajitas are wonderful. The whole family looks forward to coming here.

The food is decent and so are the prices. The food comes out fast and the service is excellent. Recommend for a quick lunch.

Went here on 5/1/2020 during Co-Vid 19 for a to go order. Had never been but saw a line outside so decided to also order to go. Excellent curbside service and hospitality. Food was amazing and large portions. Grat sized kids meals too. Our daughter loved it!

10 years after I moved nearby, still my 'go to' unless I'm looking for fancy and new. Consistently fast, friendly service and good meals at a good value. Family friendly.

Awesome food for a fair price. Good service. It was a sad day when they tore down the old Westheimer location.

Very disappointed. I ordered mixed fajita nachos. When they finally got to the table after an extremely long wait my nachos had very little cheese beans or meat on them. It was mostly burnt chips highly dissatisfied

We keep going back because the food is good and the service is even better. Martha is excellent at anticipating what you need before you ask. She is a stellar server.

Omg!! Best Food and Best Margaritas!! Ive been trying ao many placea around Tomball and Cypress and Finally! Finally !! A place that serves their salsa warm just like we like it! Margaritaa were on Point! I was buzzy 1/2 way thru the large! Had good time with Familia! I cant wait to come back. Food was delicious! Sour cream Enchiladas we soo yummy! My new Fav...El Palenque!

Really good service, friendly staff and good food, theres a waiter young man that busts his butt, he kept soda on our table so we never went on empty, I do recommend to anyone.

Enchiladas are one of the best in Houston, beans as well

One of the oldest Mexican restaurants in the area. My wife and I have been eating there since around 1996. Great food. Great service. And great Gold Margarita's.

The atmosphere was great. The service from Speedy was top knotch. The food was just ok. The best part of my meal was the cheese. The guacamole was flavorless, the refried beans tasted spoiled, and but the warm salsa was pretty tasty. I don't think I'll be back, but I'd still say try it and hopefully someone orders a good meal for now others to try.

First time here and we had the waiter name Speedy and he is the BEST !!!!!! Also ask for his “speedy sauce”.

If you're looking for excellent Tex Mex at a great price then this is the place for you. I've been frequenting this place since '99 and the quality has never changed. Always friendly, always fast service. They have the BEST salsa.

Pros: Plenty of seating, professional staff, clean, flavors were good, prices are fair. Cons: No draft beer, the plate was extremely hot for 10 minutes after my food was brought out and I burnt my hand.

I have a very odd history with this restaurant. I went once when I was younger, then didn't eat again at it till almost 20 years later.Then not again for another 5 or so years Food wise, it's good. Typical atmosphere that you can expect from this type of restaurant. Most of the staff is pretty nice, couple issues with the server I had last time. But that's not really here or there. My friend likes eating here, so more then likely will be back again.

The food is amazing. Big portions. My wife and I each ordered a cup of tortilla soup and the Tacos a la Plancha entree. We had a ton of leftovers! Service was timely and professional. I highly recommend this place. We will be back.
